h1. Sat, Apr 4, 2015 Notes Shopped in the morning at the Toledo Farmers Market. Around 11:30 a.m., I picked DD up from volunteering in South Toledo. We parked in back of the Paula Brown Shop, located downtown, at about 11:50 a.m. We viewed the art inside the nearby building that's home to Pam's Corner diner. We entered the Paula Brown Shop around 12:10 p.m. At Noon, the Darkhorse brewery tap takover began. I ordered the Darkhorse imperial stout. DD ordered the trippel. Both were tasty, big beers, but I liked the trippel better. Then I ordered an old fashioned that used vanilla bitters and cherry. Different but delicious. DD ordered the Darkhorse berry beer of some kind that was low alcohol but still good. We split a trippel. We wondered around the Paula Brown Shop, which contained: * a couple shelves of specialty food pantry items * kitchen supplies or tools * home furnishings, like dinnerware * pinball machines that were for sale and available for play We played pinball for a while, although not very well. Still fun. We bought a few items from the rest of the store, mainly gifts for family members. It was our first visit to the Paula Brown Shop, and it was a fun place. It got crowded later. We left shortly after 4:00 p.m. and walked over to the Black Cloister, which opened at 4:00 p.m. We arrived at the BCBC at 4:20 p.m., and I was surprised at how busy it was. We left the BCBC at 8:20 p.m. CP and a coworker joined us. We sat at the bar for a while. I drank one Belgian blonde and then water the rest of the time. We later moved to a table and ordered food from Table 44, which was delivered to our table. I ordered a burger and fries, and it was very good. The BCBC stayed busy and got crowded before we left at 8:20 p.m. The amazing thing was, the BCBC only had one beer option available, and they cannot offer food. And their license prohibits them from offering alcohol made by anyone else. That busy for that long, only one alcoholic beverage and no food. People have food delivered to the BCBC from nearby eateries or they bring their own food. One evening, we stopped by Home Slice Pizza, located in downtown Toledo, and ordered a pizza to go, which we ate at the BCBC. #toledo - #beer - #brewery - #restaurant - #food - #beverage
